PERMAFROST

November 2024

In November 2024, Olivera performed in Permafrost, a contemporary opera composed by Olga Janković. The opera, a profound and introspective trilogy, explores the themes of time, death, and eternity. Olivera took on the role of Velika, a character whose journey through the layers of existence brings a deep reflection on life's impermanence and the quest for meaning in the face of eternal forces.

The opera also featured a poignant familial connection, as Oliveras's daughter, Lenka, portrayed the character of Večita. Their on-stage collaboration added a unique emotional dimension to the performance, enhancing the opera's exploration of generational bonds and the passage of time.

Janković's Permafrost is a bold artistic venture that invites audiences into a meditative world where the boundaries of life and death blur. The haunting and evocative score, paired with the compelling performances, offered a powerful experience for all who attended the performances.
